Respondió Elifaz temanita, y dijo:
Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,

智慧人岂可用虚空的知识回答，用东风充满肚腹呢？
¿Proferirá el sabio vana sabiduría,Y llenará su vientre de viento solano?
Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind? {vain...: Heb. knowledge of wind}

他岂可用无益的话和无济于事的言语理论呢？
¿Disputará con palabras inútiles,Y con razones sin provecho?
Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?

你是废弃敬畏的意，在神面前阻止敬虔的心。
Tú también disipas el temor,Y menoscabas la oración delante de Dios.
Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God. {castest...: Heb. makest void} {prayer: or, speech}

你的罪孽指教你的口；你选用诡诈人的舌头。
Porque tu boca declaró tu iniquidad,Pues has escogido el hablar de los astutos.
For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty. {uttereth: Heb. teacheth}

你自己的口定你有罪，并非是我；你自己的嘴见证你的不是。
Tu boca te condenará, y no yo;Y tus labios testificarán contra ti.
Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee.

你岂是头一个被生的人么？你受造在诸山之先么？
¿Naciste tú primero que Adán?¿O fuiste formado antes que los collados?
{Art} thou the first man {that} was born? or wast thou made before the hills?

你曾听见神的密旨么？你还将智慧独自得尽么？
¿Oíste tú el secreto de Dios,Y está limitada a ti la sabiduría?
Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?
9
你知道甚么是我们不知道的呢？你明白甚么是我们不明白的呢？
¿Qué sabes tú que no sepamos?¿Qué entiendes tú que no se halle en nosotros?
What knowest thou, that we know not? {what} understandest thou, which {is} not in us?

我们这里有白发的和年纪老迈的，比你父亲还老。
Cabezas canas y hombres muy ancianos hay entre nosotros,Mucho más avanzados en días que tu padre.
With us {are} both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.

神用温和的话安慰你，你以为太小么？
¿En tan poco tienes las consolaciones de Dios,Y las palabras que con dulzura se te dicen?
{Are} the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?

你的心为何将你逼去？你的眼为何冒出火星，
¿Por qué tu corazón te aleja,Y por qué guiñan tus ojos,
Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,
13
使你的灵反对神，也任你的口发这言语？
Para que contra Dios vuelvas tu espíritu,Y saques tales palabras de tu boca?
That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest {such} words go out of thy mouth?
14
人是甚么，竟算为洁净呢？妇人所生的是甚么，竟算为义呢？
¿Qué cosa es el hombre para que sea limpio,Y para que se justifique el nacido de mujer?
What {is} man, that he should be clean? and {he which is} born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
15
神不信靠他的众圣者；在他眼前，天也不洁净，
He aquí, en sus santos no confía,Y ni aun los cielos son limpios delante de sus ojos;
Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
16
何况那污秽可憎、喝罪孽如水的世人呢！
¿Cuánto menos el hombre abominable y vil,Que bebe la iniquidad como agua?
How much more abominable and filthy {is} man, which drinketh iniquity like water?
17
我指示你，你要听；我要述说所看见的，
Escúchame; yo te mostraré,Y te contaré lo que he visto;
I will shew thee, hear me; and that {which} I have seen I will declare;
18
就是智慧人从列祖所受，传说而不隐瞒的。
Lo que los sabios nos contaronDe sus padres, y no lo encubrieron;
Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid {it}:
19
（这地惟独赐给他们，并没有外人从他们中间经过。）
A quienes únicamente fue dada la tierra,Y no pasó extraño por en medio de ellos.
Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.
20
恶人一生之日劬劳痛苦；强暴人一生的年数也是如此。
Todos sus días, el impío es atormentado de dolor,Y el número de sus años está escondido para el violento.
The wicked man travaileth with pain all {his} days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.
21
惊吓的声音常在他耳中；在平安时，抢夺的必临到他那里。
Estruendos espantosos hay en sus oídos;En la prosperidad el asolador vendrá sobre él.
A dreadful sound {is} in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him. {A dreadful...: Heb. A sound of fears}

他不信自己能从黑暗中转回；他被刀剑等候。
Él no cree que volverá de las tinieblas,Y descubierto está para la espada.
He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.
23
他漂流在外求食，说：哪里有食物呢？他知道黑暗的日子在他手边预备好了。
Vaga alrededor tras el pan, diciendo: ¿En dónde está?Sabe que le está preparado día de tinieblas.
He wandereth abroad for bread, {saying}, Where {is it}? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.

急难困苦叫他害怕，而且胜了他，好像君王预备上阵一样。
Tribulación y angustia le turbarán,Y se esforzarán contra él como un rey dispuesto para la batalla,
Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
25
他伸手攻击神，以骄傲攻击全能者，
Por cuanto él extendió su mano contra Dios,Y se portó con soberbia contra el Todopoderoso.
For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.
26
挺著颈项，用盾牌的厚凸面向全能者直闯；
Corrió contra él con cuello erguido,Con la espesa barrera de sus escudos.
He runneth upon him, {even} on {his} neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:
27
是因他的脸蒙上脂油，腰积成肥肉。
Porque la gordura cubrió su rostro,E hizo pliegues sobre sus ijares;
Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on {his} flanks.
28
他曾住在荒凉城邑，无人居住、将成乱堆的房屋。
Y habitó las ciudades asoladas,Las casas inhabitadas,Que estaban en ruinas.
And he dwelleth in desolate cities, {and} in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.
29
他不得富足，财物不得常存，产业在地上也不加增。
No prosperará, ni durarán sus riquezas,Ni extenderá por la tierra su hermosura.
He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth.
30
他不得出离黑暗。火燄要将他的枝子烧干；因神口中的气，他要灭亡（原文是走去）。
No escapará de las tinieblas;La llama secará sus ramas,Y con el aliento de su boca perecerá.
He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.

他不用倚靠虚假欺哄自己，因虚假必成为他的报应。
No confíe el iluso en la vanidad,Porque ella será su recompensa.
Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.
32
他的日期未到之先，这事必成就；他的枝子不得青绿。
Él será cortado antes de su tiempo,Y sus renuevos no reverdecerán.
It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green. {accomplished: or, cut off}
33
他必像葡萄树的葡萄，未熟而落；又像橄榄树的花，一开而谢。
Perderá su agraz como la vid,Y derramará su flor como el olivo.
He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive.
34
原来不敬虔之辈必无生育；受贿赂之人的帐棚必被火烧。
Porque la congregación de los impíos será asolada,Y fuego consumirá las tiendas de soborno.
For the congregation of hypocrites {shall be} desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.
35
他们所怀的是毒害，所生的是罪孽；心里所预备的是诡诈。
Concibieron dolor, dieron a luz iniquidad,Y en sus entrañas traman engaño.
They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit. {vanity: or, iniquity}
